Humane Society of Tampa Bay
History
Since 1912, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay (HSTB) has put animals’ needs first. Now, in the state-of-the-art facility, around 300 dogs, cats and even guinea pigs temporarily and comfortably stay. As a non-profit organization, the impact that the volunteers have is immeasurable. “We simply would not be able to do it without our volunteers,” Sherry Silk, CEO of HSTB, said.
Mission
HSTB believes in “compassion, commitment and community,” when it comes to animal welfare. In addition to several programs and initiatives that benefit pets, the shelter also took their pet-care commitment one step further by partnering with Fetch. “Fetch gives back to the shelter, which is great. We're a nonprofit and have to raise every dime that we get,” Sherry Silk, CEO of HSTB, said.
